HMB full form: HMB basically stands for beta-hydroxy-beta-methyl-butyrate. We all know about protein which is made of twenty essential amino acids. Out of these twenty essential amino acids we have one amino acid named leucine. When the body metabolizes leucine it results in the formation of beta-hydroxy-beta-methyl-butyrate (HMB). Now the production of HMB is dependent on the intake of leucine. So HMB is a metabolite of the amino acid leucine.
